• Healing Touch will visit the library on Thursday, August 12 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Healing Touch is a gentle, relaxing energy therapy that uses light touch to help the body relax, restore and rebuild. The goal of Healing Touch is to restore the body’s natural balance and harmony to facilitate health and well-being. Many use Healing Touch as part of their own self-care routine. For others, HT helps relieve stress, anxiety, pain, back and neck problems and symptoms of chronic illness. Healing Touch can also assist preparation and recovery from surgery.

• Chet Makuch of Ameriprise will speak about Long Term Care on Wednesday, July 21 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
|
• The Health Care Reform Bill & What Does It Really Mean For You? is the topic for discussion by Marc Adams, IRS Licensed Enrolled Agent and Certified Tax Coach. It is scheduled for Thursday, August 5 at 6:30 pm. On March 23, President Obama signed the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.” On March 30, he signed the companion “Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010. These two acts represent the biggest change in how we finance healthcare since Medicare was created in 1965. Americans are confused and concerned. They don’t know what the new law does nor do they know how much it will cost them. This free one hour presentation will explain some of the most important changes, how it affects you, and how Washington plans to pay for it all. Marc Adams will explain the new tax laws, how MCA can keep you informed and how you can save money. There will be a timeline of Health Care changes and a handout to take with you.

• Patricia Schrope, author of A Child of the King, will do a program this Fall for the library. She will discuss, read excerpts, autograph copies of her book, and lead a question & answer session. Her book deals with having a child born with special needs and dealing with the loss of that child at a young age. Please call the library at 973-694-8283 for the date and time of this program.
